Manifest by Artist Arthur (Review)

Manifest (Mystyx, #1)
SYNOPSIS:
(From goodreads.com)
When fifteen-year-old Krystal Bentley moves to Lincoln, Connecticut, her mom's hometown, she assumes her biggest drama will be adjusting to the burbs after living in New York City.
But Lincoln is nothing like Krystal imagined. The weirdness begins when Ricky Watson starts confiding in her. He's cute, funny, a good listener—and everything she'd ever want—except that he was killed nearly a year ago. Krystal's ghost-whispering talents soon lead other "freaks" to her door—Sasha, a rich girl who can literally disappear, and Jake, who moves objects with his mind. All three share a distinctive birthmark in the shape of an M and, fittingly, call themselves the Mystyx. They set out to learn what really happened to Ricky, only to realize that they aren't the only ones with mysterious powers. But if Krystal succeeds in finding out the truth about Ricky's death, will she lose him for good?
MY REVIEW:
Manifest by Artist Arthur is an amazing book filled with mystery and murder. The main character, Krystal is a character full of doubt as she starts at her new school in Lincoln. This book is amazing! You should totally go and retrieve it off a bookshelf today! Not only does it have mystery and murder it's a debut ya novel for Artist Arthur and a great new series revolving around a birth-marked "M".

Manifest the first book in the Mystyx Series is told by Krystal Bentley, while the next two are told my the other two characters Sasha Carrington and Jake Krammer. All three are from different groups at their high school, but in the end they all have the same birth mark an "M". Krystal's "M" is on the back of her neck, and she has had problems in the past of seeing the dead, especially when she was younger. It's called a medium. And now at 15 she's seeing ghosts again, this time of Ricky Watson, a "gangster" who died behind the high school a year ago. Because of the fact Ricky listens, and Krystal has no one else to talk to, she starts to understand Ricky and starts to go on a hunt for his murder. But as she hunts, she's found by Jake and Sasha, both have their "M's" and then things begin to happen. Being reunited things have happened, and Jake's grandfather starts mumbling about mysterious powers.

This book is suspenseful, and I had to finish it quickly because of that (even when my nook dying on me in the middle of it...). Manifest can be a one sit through read for anyone. And if you like mystery, mystyxs and random ghosts you have a good book choice in Manifest. Especially since the ending is such a big cliff hanger! I need the next book now, it's Sasha's story!

Manifest was released Today, July 27, 2010, so check it out!
And Happy Book Birthday!

Artist ArthurABOUT THE AUTHOR:
I am the first born and only girl in my family, and six and nine years separate me and my two brothers. Needless to say, I was alone quite a bit. But being alone gave me plenty of time to indulge my imagination in the world of books. One of the first novels I read was a young adult series that traced the lives of two teenagers in high school, Sweet Valley High. Reading those novels I thought I could do better, and so my quest to write entertaining stories began. Being an introvert, it took me a long time to feel comfortable enough to let others read my work. How long? Well, the first person to read a story I wrote was my husband. Since then, I’ve been writing professionally for almost nine years now. But it was my daughter who encouraged me to write a book for teens—just one of the reasons I love her so dearly. I live in Maryland with my husband and three children. If you take away the opinionated teenagers, family drama, overflowing bookshelves and DVDs, my life is pretty boring. But don’t take those things away, since they’re my inspiration.

Artist Arthur also goes under the pen name for A.C. Arthur and has published several other books under that alias.
