Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton (Review)

Tyger Tyger (Goblin Wars, #1)
SYNOPSIS:

Teagan Wylltson's best friend, Abby, dreams that horrifying creatures--goblins, shape-shifters, and beings of unearthly beauty but terrible cruelty--are hunting Teagan. Abby is always coming up with crazy stuff, though, so Teagan isn't worried. Her life isn't in danger. In fact, it's perfect. She's on track for a college scholarship. She has a great job. She's focused on school, work, and her future. No boys, no heartaches, no problems. Until Finn Mac Cumhaill arrives. Finn's a bit on the unearthly beautiful side himself. He has a killer accent and a knee-weakening smile. And either he's crazy or he's been haunting Abby's dreams, because he's talking about goblins, too . . . and about being The Mac Cumhaill, born to fight all goblin-kind. Finn knows a thing or two about fighting. Which is a very good thing, because this time, Abby's right. The goblins are coming.
MY REVIEW:
Alright so after reading The Iron King by Julie Kagawa I was in need of a good fantasy book, and guess what I found! Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton. This book is fantastic and will soon be competing with The Iron King in the fantasy market. Tyger Tyger has great characters, plot line, and emotions that pull the reader in. And a plus is that Kersten's writing is easily understood too.

Teagan Wylltson is a girl with problems, first its a gorilla and then its her cousin Finn magically coming into the Wylltson's lives. Teagan's mother is a fantasy children book author, and with her crazy goblin stories, Teagan is used to seeing them around. But when they start appearing in real life Teagan isn't sure whats happening. Than Finn leaves and they dissapear, but not before tragedy strikes the family. A year later Teagan finds Finn again, and  the creators are back, and the adventure begins. Teagan is an excellent character, her actions and thoughts are easy to read about and she makes a great heroin. Finn the other one I've been babbling about is supposedly some Irish legend there to save the world from goblins. Plus who doesn't like a guy that can fight and is mysterious!

Tyger Tyger is a book that you can read in one sitting because its just that good, it takes a little bit to get into it at first but after that it's easier. Kersten Hamilton does a great job making her world of goblins come to life and makes it so pictorial that its easy to imagine the story every step of the way. Tyger Tyger is going to be released November 15, 2010, and is the first book in the Goblin Wars series.
