Today I would like to welcome Tina Ferraro for the first author interview for Creative Stories. Welcome!
Tina loves salmon, the color orange, her favorite number is 17 and she loves the fall. Tina is the author of The ABC's of Kissing Boys, How to Hook a Hottie and Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress.
Interview
Andrea: Can you sum up one of your books in a sentence.Tina: In The ABC's of Kissing Boys, Parker Stanhope does not get promoted to from JV to Varsity soccer with all of her soccer friends, and devises a plan to change the coach's mind, which oddly enough involves kissing the socks off last year's prom king at the sport's fair kissing boy.
Andrea: Out of all your characters who was/is your favorite to write about?
Tina: I had a good time with Chrissandra Hickey, the main mean girl from The ABC's of Kissing Boys, because I was at once making fun of her and letting her run free. Whenever she showed up in that book, I ended up chuckling!

Andrea: Tell us a little about yourself. We know you're a writer but what are your favorite things and what do you other than write.
Tina: Well, I have three kids who are all exploring their own lives now, and love spending time with them and supporting their interests. I am a cat lover, have two of my own, and am on a first-name-basis with all those in my neighborhood. I also do a fair amount of volunteer work, my current favorite being raising money for sleeping bags to help the homeless in Haiti.

Andrea: Do you see yourself as any of your characters, and if so which one(s)? Or did/do you model any of your characters after people in your life?
Tina: Nicolette Antonovich from Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress is most like me. Only she is spunkier, says things I only would have thought, did things I only would have dreamed.

Andrea: Surroundings sometimes influence authors in their writing process and books, do your's in anyway influence you?
Tina: I am often influenced by my surroundings...for instance, the signature term in The ABC's of Kissing Boys, "I'm cool like that," came from something a boy said in a car pool I was driving!
(Andrea: That is hilarious!)
Andrea: Are you working on any new projects? If so can you give us a little hint, please.
Tina: I have a manuscript called HALF-LIFE being considered right now, about a girl whose twin died years ago, and her struggles to move on without her.
Andrea: Do have anything you want to say?
