Wherever Nina Lies by Lynn Weingarten (Review)

SYNOPSIS:
(From point.com)
Nina was beautiful, wild & adored by her younger sister, Ellie. But, one day, Nina disappeared. 2 years later, everyone has given up hope that Nina will return, but Ellie knows her sister is out there. If only Ellie had a clue where to look. Then she gets one, in the form of a mysterious drawing. Determined to find Nina, Ellie takes off on a crazy, sexy, cross-country road trip with the only person who believes she's got a chance - her hot, adventurous new crush. Along the way, Ellie finds a few things she wasn't planning on. Like love. Lies. And the most shocking thing of all: the truth.
MY REVIEW:
Wherever Nina Lies is interesting to say the least, I enjoyed the book and it reminded me a bit of the series Cathy's Book. The characters were interesting, and I loved the pictures that were put in every now and then that characterized the story. The journey that Ellie had to go on was amazing and I found Wherever Nina Lies very very interesting to say the least.

So onto the characters, Ellie is living in a world with out her sister, one that disappeared 2 years ago. Ellie is determined to to fine Nina (hence the title is Wherever Nina Lies) and goes to the extreme by going off with a boy she had just met at a party, Sean. Sean turns out in the end to be someone that we don't expect, but at first he's interesting and kind. But well I didn't like him in the end for what he does. But I'm not going to say what it is because your going to have to read Wherever Nina Lies to find out. There's also Nina, the girl that is being searched for, before she disappeared Nina was different and an artist, someone spontaneous and unusual. Someone that any reader can find something in common with. And she's the reason Ellie is searching. There's also Ellie's best friend Amanda, who wants Ellie to stop searching for Nina, but I don't blame her. I mean Ellie is going really crazy with this search.

Anyway the characters were crafted amazingly, and I loved the fact that Lynn Weingarten included the pictures in the book. I will certainly be picking Wherever Nina Lies again in the future. If you like mysteries, romance and drama I would pick this book up. I also think the cover fits perfectly, sometimes the cut out magazine letters don't fit a story but this one does. It gives the novel a edge of mystery which there is. Plus the  road map on the back shows the adventure their going to be going on, and the girl on the cover which I think is supposed to be Ellie or Nina is trying to keep a secret which I think through out the story Ellie is trying to solve.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Lynn Weingarten spends a lot of time writing in coffee shops while occasionally reading strangers' laptops over their shoulders. In the past she has been a book editor, a barista, a counter girl at a bakery in Ireland, a waitress at a bar, and a seller of tiny homemade clay animals. She lives in New York City. Wherever Nina Lies is her first novel.
