The Iron King by Julie Kagawa (Review)

SYNOPSIS:

MEGHAN CHASE HAS A SECRET DESTINY— ONE SHE COULD NEVER HAVE IMAGINED...
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school... or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
MY REVIEW:
Okay this book exceeds the word amazing. That's all I can say. Julie Kagawa did an amazing job with Iron King and I can't wait till Iron Daughter comes out, especially after some of the reviews I've seen on it already. I'm so happy I borrowed this from one of my girlfriends, because if I didn't I wouldn't have gotten to experience it. When she said it was unbelievable I should have listened to her. I mean I fell in love with the characters from the first page.

Meghan Chase our main character has some blood she didn't know in her system. Blood that will endanger her family and friends and put her life at risk, blood of a faery king. Meghan is a character any girl will get along with, I especially because she wants to be an IT Technician something that is in the field of work I want to do. Meghan is joined in her adventures by Robbie aka Puck or Robin Goodfellow. Yes, people Iron King if you haven't already read it involves faeries. And more specifically some of the faeries from Shakespeare's mythical play Mid-summer Nights Dream. Meghan doesn't know this but Robbie is protecting her, and keeping her safe. Robbie the boy that's been Meghan's best friend since she moved to the boondocks. Robbie the boy that never pays attention in class. She's never met Robbie's parents, been to his house or anything so she doesn't suspect him to be Puck, a faery. Until he comes out and says it when Meghan's half-brother Ethan is kidnapped and replaced with a Changeling. Ethan is Meghan's 4 1/2 year old half brother, he's young and believes in magic and thats what starts off the whole story, and Meghan's adventure to Nevernever to find him. Coincidentally in Nevernever Meghan meets her real father, Oberon King of the Summer Court.  And begins to try and save Ethan, but in the process falls for the enemy. Ash the Prince of the Winter Court, he's cruel at first, but by the end you see why. He's sworn to kill Puck and to find Meghan and take her to his mother's court. As a war begins to wage in Nevernever, a mysterious player comes into the picture and only Meghan and her friends can stop him.

As you can tell by my very long character summary this book is more than amazing, but unbelievable. I finished the book in record timing, and was reading it so much that it was scaring me. I would sit down for a couple minutes to finish a chapter I had started and then I would be 5 chapters and an hour later into the book. Time flew while reading this book. And The Iron King is now rivaling with Fire & Graceling as my favorite Fantasy books. But if you haven't picked up The Iron King by Julie Kagawa already you should run out to the bookstore, like now. I'm just going to have to buy the book now because I want it on my shelf.
